Death Comes with the Territory.

I personally found that Keats was very interesting to say the least when it comes to the writing of his poetry. His style is very different from his predecessors, in the packet chronology at least, and I believe that his historical background can be to blame for that. His poetry is very heavily laced with allusions to Greek Mythology. It seems that he enjoys pouring his education into his poetry. This also sets him apart from other romantics as it seems his poetry is still of the more educated type where only those that have studied Greek mythology in depth would be able to comprehend everything that Keats is trying to say. His poetry isn't simply about nature and how it connects with a deeper introspection of the poets self....it would seem that his poetry is more based on how nature is a representation of emotion and how the world around him influences emotions. It brings to mind the idea of pre-conception. Where depending on the mindset a person has going into something effects the details that that person is going to notice easiest. He tied that idea into looking at nature and was able to make some very interesting metaphors with that. I am glad that I got the chance to read his poetry, and the fact that he produced these in such a short time span is also amazing. Though i believe that Shelley is my favorite.
