poems poems poems
Both Lord Byron and Percy Shelley were pioneers in the new era of poetry. Influenced by the rebellious tendencies against the norm, their poetry stands out together. The two were companions during their life and the poetry they created is similar to one another. Both focus around nature, but in different ways. Byron focuses on drawing a deeper meaning to nature. In Childe Harold's Pilgrimage he portrays the ocean as an unstoppable force with extreme power that can not be controlled. Also, I see more rhymes within his poems than the previous set of poems. Shelley's poems seemed a tad depressing but also had some aspects of imagination I think. Either way, his poems include elements of nature and are of the Romantic era style of writing. The two campanions were both ironically wonderufl poets of this era despite their different backgrounds of poor verses fortunate.
